Heart Healthy Unsweetened Granola

Oven Recipe: Ingredients: 2 cups oats 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 teaspoon cinnamon Pam Spray Directions: 1.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 2.  Spray a 9 by 13 baking pan with Pam Spray. 3.  Spread oats across a 9 by 13 baking pan to create a thin layer of oats.  Toss with vanilla extract and cinnamon (while on the baking pan).  Then flatten the tin layer of oats again. 4.   Bake for 15 minutes. Check oats to see if they are crispy.  If they are not, the mix and flatten again, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until a golden brown crispiness is reached. 5.   Remove from oven, allow to cool completely, and add dried fruit.  Store a in a container for later.  Enjoy for up to 3 weeks. Iron Skillet Recipe: Ingredients: 1 Cup Old Fashion Oats 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract 1 Teaspoon Canola Oil Directions: 1) Heat iron skillet coated in 1 teaspoon canola oil on medium heat for 1-2 minutes. 2) Mix oats, vanilla, and cinnamon

Sweet Granola Bar Recipe

Ingredients: 2 cups old fashioned oats 1 cup almond butter 2 cups dates 1 cup walnuts 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon olive oil Directions: 1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. . 2) Grind walnuts in the food processor until chopeped. Set walnuts aside in another container. . 3) Remove pit from the dates. Then, purée the dates in food processor until it is a smooth consistency. . 4) Mix oats, almond butter, date puree, walnuts, cinnamon, vanilla, sea salt. The mixture will be a cookie dough consistency. . 5) Apply a thin coat of olive oil at the bottom and sides a 9 inch by 11 inch Pyrex dish. Flatten the mixture in an 9 inch by 11 inch Pyrex glass baking dish. . 6) Bake for 30 minutes. . 7) Allow to cool completely until room temperature. Then, cut into 12 pieces, serve, or individually package each bar using saran wrap and store at room temperature. Eat within 1 week.
